Michael Korney paints masterful contemporary landscapes that pull you into their world. Each place is one he has visited that has produced an emotional stimulus for him. He paints to capture these feelings so that viewers can have a similar experience:

"I choose landscapes that have moved my visual senses. I paint to evoke a feeling of looking through a window on nature, to merge the emotional and physical worlds and to reproduce those intangible moments of memory, such as the glow of a sunset or the motion of water. Although my paintings are often realistic images, my primary goal is to evoke a strong emotional connection for the viewer. Recently I have looked at the same landscapes as the past and have tried to give them a much more contemporary and abstract feeling."
